A glimpse of Spring, it won't be Long now!

Hi, my prims,  I have to say why I am doing a touch of Spring is because it is going to be nasty weather here in New England this week. So, I figured it would be fun to show you a few things I took out to make it feel like Spring is near!!!

This bunny that you see is special to me because my mother gave him to me many years ago. I think he looks so cute in the trencher with some prim easter eggs, what do you girls think!!!

Photobucket

Here is another yelloware bowl that I filled with grass and eggs. Soon the birds will be laying their eggs outside and we can't wait to see them. A couple of years ago a blue bird was right in our bush on our deck and we saw her and saw her feed her babies and she trusted us because she let us come so close to the nest. We could see her feeding her babies with their cute mouths wide open. Now every year the babies that are grown come back and have their families right in the same spot!!!! So, we can't wait for them to come back!

This picture shows a beautiful plate and bowl that I just love because of the blue that is on it.
Blue is coming back, it is a colonial color which I just love! Then next to it is another yelloware bowl
with primitive eggs in it.

Photobucket

This picture below shows a blue bowl, with a stoneware pattern and I fell in
love with it, so today I filled it up with hay and my primitive eggs that I collect every year, with the fly screen
on the side of the bowl to add character.

Photobucket

This is a primitive duck that I bought last year and he looks very happy where he is, he is so cute, don't
you think?
Photobucket

This picture is a basket that I love. I collect baskets and I will be showing you more baskets later in another post. It is filled with thin candles that I ordered last year from a friends selling blog, and the picture next to the basket was just to cute and I loved the way it looked!!!
Photobucket

Now everyone has a blanket crane, well I saw this with Mr. Hillcrest and said I bet I could
use this just like a blanket crane and gosh darn it worked. I love the way it looks!!!!!
Photobucket

Mr. Hillcrest found this little outfit and he knew I would love it so he surprised me with it. Someone really did a wonderful job putting this together. Thank you Honey for always thinking of me!!! I love you.
Photobucket

We just love to go on a hunt for old items that have history behind them.
This is an old mineral oil bottle, one pint. Maybe someone years ago bought this in a small general store. I found it so great to know that there is still so many grand old pieces that we can still find today!
Photobucket

I found this jar that is dated 1842, and Mr. Hillcrest made a tag and I put in homemade Grandma's oatmeal soap! It is great for poison ivy, you should try it.
Photobucket

This pillow I ordered from Teresa from APP she has a blog and a selling blog, and I fell in love this because
it reminds me of Spring, and Teresa does such wonderful work. this pillow is made out of wool and is breath taking, thank you Teresa for such a great pillow!!!
Photobucket

This is a shelf that I just love, and the color too.

Photobucket

This picture I love because it is so peaceful and quaint.

Photobucket

Okay, now my samplers or stitcheries, some people call them. This one is my new one I bought two weeks ago.  I am collecting them. I just love the way they look in a display and a gathering on a wall.

Photobucket

This one I bought years ago and it looks like a child did it.
Photobucket

This one is true, Welcome to our home!!!!!! Just beautiful!!
Photobucket

This is my favorite because the saying is so true and beautiful, Heaven is under our feet
as well as over our heads! That is so true. Betty Thompson age 7 1875.

This 5 gallon stone ware crock is special because Mr. Hillcrest and I are starting to collect the salt glazed jugs and crocks with the blue prints on them, and they are expensive, but worth it. They are going on top of our livingroom cabinet.

Here is our first piece!!!

Okay prims, I am done for now. I hope you enjoyed your time here at Hillcrest Home Prims because I enjoy having you.

Until next time stay safe and remember Spring is around the corner.,

Hello Prims, I'm Back

Hi my, Prims. It is so good to be back. I have been very sick with the bug, YUK!!!!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and Mr. Hillcrest surprised all of us and took us snowtubing at Nashoba Valley in Littleton, MA. and we had a great time. Below are my three favorite men in the world. They are all my Valentine everyday!! I  feel truly blessed to have such a great family!! Just seeing them smile means EVERYTHING to me!!

Photobucket

Here is Mr. Hillcrest and I at the top of the course ready to go down this mountain, to me it was anyway, even though it was a hill!!! Mr. Hillcrest was holding me there because I thought about not going but I conquered my fear and I showed our sons you CAN do anything you want to do if you put your mind to it. Did you notice I am wearing PINK. I love pink. THINK PINK,LOL

Photobucket

Here we are going up.
Photobucket

Here we are looking down at the course!!! Woo Hoo
Photobucket

Here I am saying in my mind " What did I get myself into"  HELP!!!

Photobucket

Here is our oldest Steve-o, he loves this kind of thing!!!
Photobucket

Here is our youngest Matthew, he loves snowtubing. He would tube ALL day if he could.
Photobucket

Of course here is my handsome husband Mr. Hillcrest, ready to go down the course!!!!

Photobucket

Okay, here I am, Steve-o was holding the tube so Dad could take a picture of me before I went down.
Then I thought Steve-o was going to turn me around, well guess again, he pushed me backwards and it sure was the ride of my life!!! Thanks Steve-o.

Photobucket

This is an old phone that Mr. Hillcrest and I found one day and we finally found a place for it in the kitchen.

Photobucket

Here is another view of our old phone.
Photobucket

This is really cool. This is a ticket to ride the stagecoach from Greenfield, MA. to Albany, New York, it is called a Way Bill.  It cost $3.00 to ride the coach back then and it is dated May 16, 1831. I find these things so cool and interesting.

Photobucket

This is for Motherbee from BB. I have a Standard Sewing Machine Co. treadle machine from 1887.

Photobucket

Here is the original receipt for the sewing machine, it says...Ms Webb, We have your order for 1 maple wood work machine ordered 10/3 we have the maple now and we shall ship your order at once.
Photobucket

Here is a picture of the beautiful machine we have. Alot of people ask does it work, It sure does work!!!!!!!
Photobucket

The picture below is to show you the treadle. It is cast iron.
Photobucket

In the shelf that I painted holds a iron box that holds all the tools for the machine and the wooden holders below that holds all the different sized needles for it!
Photobucket

Here is an old print advertising the machine that Mr. Hillcrest found for me.
Photobucket

And last but not least, I place this book on my machine to give a feeling of what it is like to own it.
Photobucket

I hope all my Prims loved this post. My husband and I really love to look for old things. We love the hunt and then when you buy something and there is a story behind it, it is such a bonus.

I hope you are all well. We are going to get some snow later tonight. YUK!!!!!! I can tell you all one thing I can't wait for Spring. It sure has gone by fast. I just can't wait to start to cook on the grill, hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, chicken, chips and dips, and alot of Iced tea, and then at night, a campfire to cook smores on our fire pit. Also we can open up our in-ground pool, go swimming,  and my favorite thing to do is work in my three perennial gardens and seeing the humming birds come back!!!!!!! Until then stay warm.

God Bless Friends,
Until next time,
Tricia
