A Hillcrest Homestead Christmas Part 1

Hi my Prims,
I wanted to share our Colonial Christmas displays and some full room shots that I took after a few LONG days of decorating.
Christmas time has always been a special and magical time of year for me as I was a child and now as an adult. Sharing it with my husband and my sons have just given me such joy and happiness.
There are alot of traditions we have done and still do.
When we wake up our sons come down and wake us up and hubby stocks
the fire and puts on all the lights and Christmas music then he comes in the bedroom where we wait for him and we pray and then we sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to JESUS!!!!
We will do this forever. We find it VERY important that our sons keep these traditions going and pass them all down to their children. Also to let their children know it is Jesus's Birthday and know their Bible which they do.

From here on out I am going to be very busy. I bake alot of cookies like my Grandmother did and freeze them and this year I am going to bring a couple of dozens of cookies to the Senior Center in our town.

I love the smell of our homestead and how cozy, warm and inviting it is when I start to decorate and bring out everything we have collected over the years. You will see some of our collections in the pictures I have taken.
This is a picture heavy post so please gave a cup of tea or hot chocolate sit back and enjoy!
This is all in the kitchen...........

This reindeer was made by my friend Wendy@Ravenwood Whimizies.
I was her partner and wait till you see what eles I got in my package. This exchange was a few months ago so you know I have been itching to decorate and get my reindeer out. LOVE HIM Wendy!!!

Outside looking in,I wish it came out better but I love the way it looks outside.

Outside looking in again!

This was from my friend Tammy A Primitive Place blog,I never forget when someone sends me something or we do a swap. Tammy is a sweetheart. You should go to her blog and check out her Christmas Homestead....BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

So there are some goodies on my theme Christmas tree in the kitchen. This year I have 3 tree's in our kitchen. The other 2 have colored lights on them.
The second one is on a yellow ware bowl and is on an old sled in the window and the third one is a small one on the other side of my kitchen.

Here is the second one. Love it.

Here is my small tree. It didn't come out like I wanted too. The colored lights look alot better, the picture just didn't show it.

Near our bow window we will be putting our Christmas village up. Mr.Hillcrest does that and he really enjoys it, thank goodness because there are so many cords, lights etc., then our kitchen will be complete for Christmas!!!!!!
Here is our collection of Belsnickle's. Some are here and some are in other places.

Comfort and Christmas and antique bowls!

Hi my Prims,
I wanted to share with you my office that I have decorated for a prim Christmas.
Here is what I did............

See my new wool hook rug. I love the colors and I also can keep it up all year round. I sold 2 of them  and got an email from the 2 gals that ordered them and one of them said the colors were prim perfect for her livingroom.
I love to hear back from people who order from me. It makes me feel so good that I can bring a smile to someone's face.
So, now do you see the prim Santa in the cozy chair. Mr. Hillcrest wanted that Santa so bad, so Mr Santa came home with us!!!
See the cozy chair,it was his Gramdmother's we called here Meme and then it was Mr. Hillcrest's Mother's and now it is mine. It means the world to me to have this cozy chair in our family.
SO, hear is a close up shot of prim Mr. Santa.....

Here is another view of my office......................

Here is a small prim Santa that is in our bedroom....

Close up of Mr. Santa. I just love him.

Now yesterday it was a beautiful day, I opened up all our new window's and was able to air out the house and it felt so GOOD. Well, Saturday Mr. Hillcrest and I went to Bernat Mills another beautiful day, that we haven't been in 6 months and we found WONDERFUL treasures so yesterday I cleaned out my hutch here, is the before picture.......

There was just TOO MUCH in there. I wanted my antiques to show.I did buy 2 antique bowls there and more pewter haven't put those out in the livingroom yet. That will come later.
Now here is the after picture of the hutch.......

I love it alot better and you can see each piece.
I wanted to also show you what we bought at the mill and I have a question about a bowl we bought and we have researched it alot but we have found NOTHING!
Well see on the right it is my yellowware bowl with the blue stripe and it is a small, I have had this for 8 years and this was my VERY firist yellowware bowl.Mr. Hillcrest found the next size up at the mill and we couldn't leave it behind. So they are both in the hutch.
Here is the bowl we have in question....
See it is a tan color with a white stripe. Does anyone know anything about this color bowl at all???

Thank you for any information you you can send my way.

Here are is the pewter we bought....

Isn't this awesome, I love the shape of it and I didn't find it Hubby found it and he was only a few feet away found me. Hubby is funny he always has to check the bottom to make sure it say pewter.

I am not keeping it here, I just wanted to show you what it looks like with a prim candle in it.

And this beauty I love the shape of the pewter pitcher. We did buy a huge piece and we cleaned out Hubby office yesterday too, but it is still not ready to take pictures so you will see that in my next post. My Hubby is thrilled with what we bought. Smile from ear to ear, you will just have to wait.
If you noticed I have my office done for Christmas and I have been working on the kitchen but it is not complete yet, we also have to get out our Christmas village out and set that up which Mr. Hillcrest LOVES, LOVES to do.
This week Hubby and I are doing popcorn and cranberry strings for our Prim Christmas tree in the livingroom. The Christmas tree will be put up this weekend,I love to get all my decorating done so all we have to do is enjoy the holidays and not feeling is a rush to get things up.We can see the snow falling, watching Christmas movies  with our fire going and the whole homestead lit up.It brings us such comfort and joy, love that song. I have at least one Christmas tree in each room this year, some have two. It is alot of work but SO WORTH IT!!!!
It will be like a winter wonderland at Hillcrest Home.
We have alot to be thoughtful for.
Our oldest is dating a wonderful girl Megan, she is 20 and is in college too, and she is coming over for Thanksgiving for dinner but she doesn't eat meat
she is a vegan our son said that means also no chesse, milk, eggs, ect, so I will be doing some dishes for just her which I don't mind. She is studing to be a vet and works part time at a vet hospital.
Steve-o is such a gentlemen he opens the door for her and he took her mini golfing which is in doors then they went rock climbing and then went for a small lunch they both had salads, I had to laugh Steve-o eating just a salad, then they went to the movies and grab a 9:00 dinner.
Of course Steve-o paid. He is a great catch, not just because he is our son it is because I know we raised him to respect who he is with, her parents think the world of him.
When Steve-o went to pick Megan up for their first date he went to the door and still does met her parents and Steve-o said they wacthed us leave and Steve-o opened Megan's door and the Father said out loud Megan he is a keeper.Today these young men don't know how to treat their dates,or wifes.
Both our son's have seen how their father treats me and Hubby always opens the door for me and I believe your kiddo's learn from HOME!!!They watch everyting you all do even when you think their not watching they are.
Being a good role model was and still is very important to my husband and I.

Okay so I am going to show you some close ups of the hutch and show you my kindle that my hubby bought for me and I already have books on there. Christmas stories!!!

I have more bowls like the huge one on my stove board....

They are everywhere in my homestead kitchen, where the heart is in our home.

Here is my kindle and Mr.Hillcrest also bought me a pink cover for it.I didn't think I would like a electronic,I love reading but holding a book but my eyes are getting worse, I did get 2 new pairs of glasses and Mr. Hillcrest has to wear glasses now too.
I have to say I LOVE my kindle. It lights up, you can download books, music, games that is for Mr.Hillcrest not me.

Here it is...

I love it.
I know this was a LONG post but I hope you enjoyed it.
I am going to be doing a Christmas giveaway so PLEASE stay tune for that post.
This is for all my loyal follower's that always comment on my blog and it means everything to me.I want to do that for my Prims.

Give hugs and kisses to your loved ones,
Live life to the fulliest, don't worry about yesterday,
think about and live for today to the FULLIST.
Life is SHORT and keep the Lord in your heart and talk with
him everyday and anywhere you go he is with all of us.
This is why we celebrate Christmas, NOT SANTA, NOT GIFTS.
It is because Jesus was born and we celebrate his Birthday and we
bake a Birthday cake for Jesus every year and this year is no different.

Blessings,Hugs, and Love,
Tricia
