Home Sweet Homestead

Hi my Prims,
I had some time to change up a few things in our homestead. I have a lot more to do when I get the time, but here are a few things that I did change up.I hope you enjoy this post.

If you see on the top picture I added the hearts after I took this second picture but I wanted to still post this pic.

Now some changes in our living room.........

I added some of my pewter to our mantle.........

Next is some red ware pieces that my hubby and I found REALLY cheap before my FIL got very sick and I just put them out with my red ware collection....

Those 2 red ware pieces you see are 2 new ones....

The small one near the big red ware vase is another new piece and the vase can be made into a red ware lamp but for know it is up there until we can get to it........

Here is some more pewter. I still HAVE A LOT MORE TO DO and PAINT!!!!!!!!!

My favorite piece it is very old and we LOVE it!!!!!!

My NEW/OLD lamp and then we went out and bought a shade for it.

So there you go. Like I said I have A LOT more to do.

I also wanted to THANK everyone that commented on my last post for "praying for my FIL"
The night before he fell and cut his leg and hit his head so it has been hard on him more than anyone but we don't think he will be able to drive anymore so a lot of this is going to fall on us but that is what we do for our folks. I took care of my MIL for 4 yrs. until she passed away and I will do the same for my FIL.
Everyone of you that commented and that is praying for my hubby's Dad you all mean so much to me. I read some of the comments and I did tear up. They were heart felt and my husband and I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. I knew I could depend on my blogging friends.

God Bless.
Warm Hugs and I have a lot more to show you of our homestead when I have time to get things done. I did paint some pieces black that are in our bedroom and I will be posting that on my next post. I did that before my FIL add his stroke and then a week later he was in the hospital again with the gall bladder. It has been CRAZY to say the least.
When my hubby and I come in our home it is so relaxing and warm to us. There is no place like home!

Prayers Please!

Hi my Prims,
Sorry that I have not posted pictures of my homestead but my FIL went into the hospital again 2 weeks ago. His gall bladder was badly infected and they had to open him up the old way so we have been to Boston everyday and now he is in rehab. They have him walking etc. It was scary because of his age and they told us in Boston that he could have a heart attack on the table due to the fact he has a bad heart. My husband and I prayed all that day. He was under for almost 4 hours but now he has a very bad cold and is really under the weather.
I ask if you all could remember my FIL when you say your prayers.

He is 87 young but he is showing his age after this. He has a home at the Cape and here in our town and he will be coming home they think next week. We have been going every night to see him and he is not in Boston anymore, he is in rehab closer to us. It has been hard on my husband because we had to talk to my FIL about living on his own ( I will be caring for him down here) but when and if he goes back to the Cape we are hiring a nurse to be with him then on the weekends we will be going down to care for him but that will not be for awhile.
Thank you all for your prayers for my FIL Paul!
I will be doing a post on some changes I have done on the homestead!
Stay safe and warm, I hope we don't have anymore SNOW!! Think Spring girls!
Warm Hugs,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!!!!!!!

This post is special to me because it is my Grandma's Birthday today. She is home with the Lord but I miss her so dearly and I still honor her on her Birthday every year.
My Grandmother was a strong woman and I am the woman I am today due to my Grandma.
She taught me to cook, knit, always had advice for me all the time. I spent my school vacations with her and if there was no school on Monday I would sleep over then go to church that was down the street where I met my folks and then went right back to Grandma's home. I also spent all summer vacation with her and I LOVED every minute of it!! She was my Grandma but she also was my very Best Friend and she was more of a Mother to me than anything.

Here is a picture of her when she was younger. I have so many, many awesome, wonderful memories of her but I do have to say that when she went home to be with the Lord she had a massive stroke walking downtown with her sister so it was a HUGE shock. I fell apart and when she died so did a part of my heart died with her. I lost not only my Grandmother but my BF and Mother that day.
I know that she is with the Lord and is happy and I will be with her again when I go home. I am sure she will be waiting right there for me. I love you, Grandma! XOXOXOX!

Here is my Grandma with her sisters and the one on the left side in the back was a family friend.

Grandma I wish you a Happy Birthday and a BIG thank you for loving me for me. I am the wife, mother and friend I am today because of you. I was a very lucky gal to have such an amazing woman in my life and that taught me so much and also taught me about life.

I love you and Happy Birthday!
Love your Granddaughter

Hi Prims,

It has been sometime. I wanted to sure a few things with you all.
My hubby and I went to the Shrine before Christmas. It was beautiful and peaceful.
Here are some shots that my husband took.....

 That is SO TRUE!

This is the reason we celebrate CHRISTmas, it is Happy Birthday Jesus!

We always light a candle for our loved ones that are home with the Lord and my husband Ken and I say the Lord's prayer out loud!

Here is my handsome husband, he lite the candle first and then he handed it to me and then he took my picture.

My hubby took this picture without me knowing. As you can see I was praying.

Then we went out for a small bite to eat.........

That is my babe, my everything!!!!!!

We really had a wonderful time. We always have a wonderful time together.  I love you my husband,
and I am so blessed to have such an amazing loving husband in my life. I did something right in my
life to have you as my husband!

This is The Gingham Goose and we stopped by there this past weekend because we have been going to the Cape to my FIL's home. It was alright but we wouldn't go back!

That is where they live and the shop is in the back and the girl that was working there WASN'T friendly at all and that what really makes people want to go back, to busy reading a book, didn't even say Hi. We were disappointed.

Then we went to see my FIL and he took us to see the ocean and it was COLD and windy BUT I did get sea shells......

That is Ken's Dad my FIL. A few weeks before Christmas he had a small stroke and he is 87 yrs young. He was in the hospital for 3 days and everyday we went down and the 4 day we got him home and we got a nurse to come everyday to help him. He is doing much better and we have been down every weekend and he spent Christmas with us we picked him up and he really had a GREAT time. We go down every weekend and do his food shop and get his medication etc., and just spend time with him which he just loves.

So that is all I have. I will be taking pictures of our homestead, I changed things around and painted things and also bought some great treasures at the Cape called Cape Cod Pickers. It is a gold mine.

Be kind to each other and love each other.

Blessing,
Tricia XOXO
