Phase 2 of our Homestead and pictures of when I was little

Hi my Prims,
It sure has been crazy here at the homestead BUT so worth it. They showed up yesterday at 7:00 am and they didn't leave till almost 7:00 pm. There are about 9 guys and they are back today.
The roof took 2 days and the rood crew finished it last night.
Here are some pictures:

All 3 screen door are off, we bought beautiful new heavy duty screen doors they will be putting put last!

There is our new roof, alot of work,
they are doing taking off the wooden shakers under my new kitchen window and
the whole back of the house.I can't wait to show you all when it is done.
We even went out last night when they left and bought new coloinal lighting for the kitchen door way outside and livingroom and the back door to our deck and pool, very excited.

Now with that said my Dad made a photo book for me, it helped him with what my mother is going through with cancer, to see their wedding photo's and my parent's got married when my mother was 18 and my dad was 19 and they have been married for 45 wondeful, beautiful years.

Sorry this didn't come out good but this is my Dad's side of the family. My Grandmother wasn't in this because she took the picture.

The handsome man leanding on the couch is my Dad and then my mom in front of him and yep me in her lap. Next to my dad is my PaPa and the my Auntie Lee my 2 cousins and my Auntie Paulette and her husband Uncle Tom.

My other Dad's brother is missing and that is my Uncle Bobby and his wife.

There I am with my Grnadmother(my Dad's Parents) and my PaPa!!!!

Here is my Grandmother and I, that I was very close too.
Summer vacations she would come with us, and then I would spend the rest of the summer with her and the weekends and school vacations. My Grandmother was like a mother to me and was my VERY BEST FRIEND!!!!

I was 16 years old there and my precious Grandmother.
She was the BEST thing in my life.

Now here I am with the love of my life my husband...

We were at church when this was taken.

Well there you go girls. The worker's are here and my hubby is outside going over a few things with them.

Phase 1 our our homestead

Hi my Prims,
Here are before and after the window's are in. Monday and Tuesday if is going to rain here and there so they will be coming back for the roof, phase 2 and then my favorite part the demolition of the wooden shakers on our home and then the siding go up and they look like wooden shakers but it is siding. We are so excited. I can't wait for you all to see the final project done and then I can't wait to decorate for the holiday's!!!!!!!

So phase 2 is the high max def roof and then phase 3 the siding.

The Wenesday the demo;ition starts and it is going to look like a NEW Homestead!!!!!!!

My AWESOME swap with Wendy!

Hi my Prims,
Well I want to let you all know the house project is starting today.
The windows are going in today and Saturday so it is 2 days of that.
Then they start the roof and then a week for the siding. I will be taking pictures of before and after so stay tuned!!!!

I want to share with you a Christmas in July swap that I was in.

this and the lamb you see she also made. I couldn't stop looking at him.
He is PRIM PERFECT! I told my husband I wish it was Christmas so I could display him. You will see where I put him this Christmas.
Everytime I see him Wendy will come to my mind. This is not all she sent me.

Wendy also made the FAB*U*LOUS reindeer.
I LOVE him.

I am going to sign off it is 7:30 a.m. and the work men are coming in about 30 minutes and I have to wake up my husband YES he is still sleeping, he is on vacation so he can over see this major project and with strange men in my homestead putting in our new window's so he felt and ME TOO, that he needed to be here.

It is hot here so I will be in the pool for the rest of the day and tomorrow VERY HOT so Hubby and I will be in the pool and grilling and our oldest son and youngest I am sure they will be in the pool as well, on their rafts and driving for the round plastic rings we toss in.

Happy Summer

Hi my Prims,
It has been crazy busy here. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, on Father's Day!

I know that it is summer time. It is time for grilling,cookouts,making smores on the fire pit, fireworks, swimming in our pool,planting flower's,
taking day trips, exploring the wonderful state we live in and all the history that is right in our back door,sitting on our deck and watching our humming birds that we just love to do and there are so many of them,going to the ocean and collecting sea shells, having seafood, bike riding, talking walks and exploring, I could go on and on but it is a fun time. Even though it is summer time I love to keep our homestead warm, cozy and inviting.
Here are a few pictures......

My old bucket and put flower's in it. I love it and the prim flag in my watering can.

Here is my sweet basil and my sweet mint for my homemade sweet ice tea and my BF Dana is giving me her recipe that she makes from the South.

Do you see anything new, the mat it is blue and tan. LOVE it!Also in the wooden bowl is all my prim cookie cutters.

All my panrty jars, I ordered prim labels and will be pasting them to the jars and putting cheese cloth on top of all of them, so this is not all done yet.
The yellowware that you see is a candle and smell delightful.

Here is my prim display at night. I love the soft light glow at night.

You all saw this piece before but I changed it up. Can you tell what is different?
Yes, the prim baskets. and the iron rod candle holder and the pewter candle holder. I only light them to take a picture becasue I don't want a fire.
I have battery candles that I will be using to stay safe.

Added a alittle green to my collection of rolling pins in my crock.

Changed up my stove board for the summer.

Well girls I am done for now.
As alot of you know we are doing a face lift on our home, we have ordered our window's, and siding that is a colonial color and it looks like wood slates but is is really siding. It is more $$$ but so worth it and the roof they are starting next week.
So it is going to be VERY BUSY around here.
I just can't wait to have my new window's in because I have already picked out my coloinal/prim curtains. Hubby said boy you always think ahead right down to the color.
Have a wonderful day. This week is going to be they say 90 to 95 plus starting tomorrow. Pool day, I don't like when it is that HOT!!!!!!!!!

Found some pewter!!!

Hi my Prims,
I can't believe that it is already June.
Where did May go?
I also wanted to let you all know that I have posted
my new goodies on my website shop, look under Summer, Spring,
and I did get some things for fall so look under fall and samplers.
I also wanted to thank so many gals that have ordered from me.
I have been very busy with orders and I am thrilled to say my shop is really taking off.


I wanted to share with you all some pewter that Mr. Hillcrest and I found
at a yard sale. We don't yard sale to often anymore but we knew the gal
that does her yard sales 3 times durning the summer and this is what we found.

See it says pewter!!

I was thrilled to have found these for my pewter collection.

Also I did some baking, these cookies are sooooo yummy.

Instead of choc. chips I crushed up these m&m's......

M&M's with pretzels they came out sooooo YUMMY, and then I made my own sweet tea with lemons and sweet mint that I planted.

If you want the recipe let me know and I will be more than happy post it.

I am off to put in a pork loin in the oven, it is cool today. Yesterday it did rain all day but we needed it, so we didn't open the pool but we plan on opening
it up next weekend.
